1. What is the Language Explorer Competition?

The Language Explorer Competition is an annual online national event introducing language and linguistics knowledge to students in Malaysia. It targets primary, secondary, and pre-university levels, aiming to familiarize younger generations with Language and Computational Linguistics.

2. Who can participate in Language Explorer Competition competitions?

Language Explorer Competition competitions are open to students of all levels, from primary school to secondary school. There are different categories based on the students’ grade level for international schools, allowing a wide range of students to participate.

3. Can non-Malaysian students participate in Language Explorer Competition competitions?

Yes, non-Malaysian students can participate in Language Explorer Competition competitions. The competitions are inclusive and open to all students studying in Malaysia, regardless of their nationality.

6. How can students participate in Language Explorer Competition competitions?

Students can participate in the Language Explorer Competitionthrough the following registration method:

School Registration (Only Method):
All students must register through their school. A designated teacher will be appointed to manage and handle the registration process via www.contesthub.my.

Registration Fees:

  • Early Bird Registration: RM40 per student 
  • Normal Registration: RM45 per student 

Note: Early bird rates are available for a limited time only. Schools are encouraged to register early to enjoy the discounted fee.

Important:
All participants must register through their respective schools.

7. Is there a minimum or maximum number of participants required from each school in the Language Explorer Competition Competition?

We do not have any minimum or maximum requirements for registration, as we warmly welcome all schools to participate in our competition.

8. How to prepare students for the Language Explorer Competition?

The Language Explorer Competition provides study materials and practice papers on their official website (https://myclo.my/study-guide/) to help students prepare.

9. Where can I purchase practice books for students?

10. What is the Language Explorer Competition's formats & scoring system for each question?

The Language Explorer Competition is conducted online via the Autoproctor system, featuring 5 subjective questions. Participants are allotted 1 hour and 30 minutes to answer, with 20 points assigned for each question. The Autoproctor system activates from 10 am to 5 pm on the competition day, allowing students to answer at any time within this period. All participants must use a laptop, computer, or tablet with a stable internet connection.

11. Are there any prizes for winners of Language Explorer Competition competitions?
Yes, all students who participate in the Language Explorer Competition will receive a certificate of participation. Top-performing students will be recognized with awards categorized as Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mention, based on their marks. Students will receive certificates reflecting their respective awards. Note: No medals are provided; awards are issued in certificate form only.
12. If I continue as the teacher in charge at the same school for the Language Explorer Competition in 2027, do I need to create a new ContestHub account, or can I use the existing one?
If your school participated in the Language Explorer Competition Competition in 2026 and you are still teaching at the same school, you do NOT need to create a new ContestHub account. You can use your existing account to register for the upcoming competition by login using the same username and password. Kindly update your profile account.
13. If I transfer to another school in 2026, do I need to create a new ContestHub account?

If your school participated in the Language Explorer Competition Competition in 2026 and you are still teaching at the same school, you do NOT need to create a new ContestHub account. You can use your existing account to register for the upcoming competition by login using the same username and password. Kindly update your profile account.

14. How many teachers can be assigned as Teacher-In-Charge (TIC)?

For the Language Explorer Competition, our system allows up to three teachers in charge to be assigned. In cases where a school has more than three teachers, please feel free to reach out to our support team for assistance.

15. Our school is new to the Language Explorer Competition, and we want to join. What do we need to do next?

Each school is required to appoint at least one Teacher-In-Charge (TIC) responsible for handling registration, payment, and overseeing the competition day. The designated teacher must have a ContestHub account to ensure our secretary is informed that you are the TIC representing your school. To be officially recognized as the TIC, please reach out to our customer support team using the phone number provided in FAQs 16.
